Vision Statement

Make Providence Warwick a premier city experience for visitors in the Northeast.

It’s no surprise that the overwhelming majority of people who work at the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) either grew up in Rhode Island, or went to school here, or both. We have big love for the smallest state.

We enjoy all four seasons. We can cross from one end of the state to the other in an hour’s time.  In the summer you will find us enjoying the shorelines, be it quahogging in Warwick, dipping our toes in the ocean or enjoying a boat ride from Providence to Newport.  In the fall, we enjoy the excitement of a region that is home to colleges and universities and the epicenter of local higher education. Our office is located in the heart of Providence, a city filled with intellectual capital and leaders in information technology, sciences, and innovation. The winter months in Providence draw sports fans to the Amica Mutual Pavilion — home to both Providence Bruins hockey and Providence College basketball. The walkability of our city and the connectivity of our transportation allow for regional connectivity.

For those of us who are fortunate to work here, we truly live our job, spending a lot of our free time at community events and local businesses. We can often be found on social media, bragging about a great experience at a neighborhood establishment, not because we have to but because we feel so strongly about our city and state.

Our beaches are pristine, the food scene here is nationally recognized and is often sourced locally from Rhode Island farms and seafood caught in Narragansett Bay.  Our thriving arts scene lights up the night with events from WaterFire to Gallery Night. We have a passion for our home cities and this great state.

We focus on Providence and Warwick but our reach stretches farther. Through our collective work, we may book an event at the Rhode Island Convention Center, but those attendees will travel throughout the state, visiting landmarks, exploring our thriving arts scene, dining at critically acclaimed restaurants, or even staying at hotels in other parts of the state. Additionally, our RI Sports Commission division will book and support athletic events that take place across Rhode Island.

As members of this community, we are grateful to be able to make an important economic contribution to this state and to the many businesses that we market and promote. We are proud of the work we do to attract leisure visitors, meeting and convention planners and delegates, travel writers and sporting event attendees.

We work hard to market and sell Providence, Warwick and all of Rhode Island but we are reluctant to call it a job. We call it a pleasure.
