PROVIDENCE – How is Rhode Island’s capital city like Rodney Dangerfield? It gets no respect.
That, at least, is the opinion of the editors at the magazine Sherman’s Travel. In an article posted on Yahoo! Travel, they list Providence as one of the 10 most underrated cities in the United States.
“These overlooked and underrated cities are ready to emerge from the shadows into the limelight,” the piece declares, saying they “don't get their fair share of the spotlight.”
Though the Sherman’s article does not say whether the 10 are ranked or listed in any particular order, Providence is at the top of the list, described as an “underrated city [that] seems tailor-made for a quick and fulfilling getaway.”
