There’s nothing more delicious than a mimosa and a heavenly portion of Eggs Benedict, unless it's being surrounded by the glorious summer weather and your best friends. We at GoProvidence have scoured the area looking for some of the best spots to dine al fresco and enjoy brunch…and let us tell you, it was painstaking (wink wink).

Caffe Dolce Vita is like sitting in a small piazza in an Italian village, the bright colors and the sound of the fountain a perfect complement for their Bloody Marys and delectable omelets. Minutes turn into hours when you're surrounded by the hanging flowers in DePasquale Plaza. (Brunch served Saturdays and Sundays.)

Want something a little more romantic? Check out The Duck and Bunny, Providence’s only ‘snuggery.’ Their outdoor space is just as intimate as their small dining rooms, so you'll feel like you’re in a fairy tale. Try the Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast or, if you want something a little lighter, select one of their amazing crepe options. From savory to sweet, they’ll hit every craving. (Breakfast served Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Waterman Grille riverside location is only matched by its delicious brunch offerings. Where else can you watch crew practice and kayakers exploring the Seekonk River? There are rumors of seals handing out on the banks, too! My favorite is the white wine spritzer and mushroom grilled cheese, which can’t be beat. You’ll feel so New England. (Brunch served Sundays, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

I’m reminded how much I love Chapel Grille each time I go. You feel like you’re on the Mediterranean Coast with a few of your closest friends. Enjoy brunch the way it’s intended – buffet style. From carving stations to every mini baked good you could imagine, you certainly won’t leave hungry. But don’t worry, you can walk off some of those croissants by doing some light shopping around the Garden City Center – I mean, it’s right there. The best part about this buffet is that it changes every weekend. There is an incredible variety of ‘chef’s choices’ so that you’ll be surprised each time you visit! (Brunch buffet served Sundays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

It’s almost summer, so get out there and enjoy the weather – and hey, there’s no better rationale for having a cocktail before noon than brunch.

And as a friendly reminder, Providence Restaurant Weeks is just around the corner. We have a growing list of restaurants and menus being updated daily. Don't miss out!
