95.5 WBRU Summer Concert Series
Start your weekend off at a free concert with the beautiful Providence skyline as the backdrop. 95.5 WBRU, along with Dunkin' Donuts and the city of Providence, are putting on their final Summer Concert Series show of the season. Take a seat on the lawn at Waterplace Park and listen to Wild Sun and headliners The Wombats. The show starts at 7:15 p.m.
Head on over to the Comedy Connection of Rhode Island to catch RI native Ben Hague. Ben has been around the country with his comedy show, making appearances on shows like "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson. Check out his show starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday, August 13
Foo Fest returns to take over downtown Providence this year, with hours of live music and family-friendly activities. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door, and kids 10 and under free! The event runs from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., with family-friendly activities from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
K-Rob Flips Providence - World Record Backflip Attempt
Kevin Robinson, better known as K-Rob, is a four-time X Games BMX gold medalist and Rhode Island native. Catch him as he attempts to set a new world record of a no-handed backflip on a BMX bike. He'll soar through the air reaching 100 feet! Enjoy local bands, vendors and even a beer garden before the attempt, right in Kennedy Plaza. The festivities start at 2 p.m.

Rhode Island International Film Festival
The Rhode Island International Film Festival is in full swing this year. Check out some amazing short films from around the world, screening at various venues in Providence, including The VETS and RISD Auditorium. Screenings run from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. Click here for the full schedule.
