Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. A spectacular display of jack-o-lanterns, nonstop comedic gold, and a Columbus Day Festival are just a few things happening this weekend in Providence.
Friday, October 7
Start your weekend off at Trinity Repertory Company with a showing of "Appropriate." This story follows an estranged family that reunites at the estate of the deceased family patriarch. As they go through mementos, they find a unique relic, which brings many questions and revelations. Friday's showing starts at 7 p.m.
You know the fall season is in full swing when the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular returns to the Roger Williams Park Zoo. Stroll through the zoo and marvel at the hundreds of handcrafted jack-o-lanterns that light up the night. The spectacular starts at 5:30 pm.
Saturday, October 8
Columbus Day Weekend Festival
Come enjoy the sights and sounds of Providence's Little Italy during the Annual Columbus Day Festival. The three-day festival celebrates the Italian heritage on Federal Hill. The fun starts at noon on Saturday with a kick-off celebration across from DePasquale Plaza. Check out our recent blog post for more information.
Head over to the Rhode Island Comedy Connection to catch Jessimae Peluso live. Peluso has been around the comedy circuit across the nation, and was even featured on MTV's "Girl Code" comedy show. A regular in the Boston and New York comedy scene, Peluso will be sure to bring laughs all night long. There will be two shows on Saturday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Super Structures at Providence Children's Museum
Bring the kids down to the Providence Children's Museum to experience Super Structures. This event lets your kids explore 3D design and building challenges to develop their understand of how things are built. Super Structures starts at 10 a.m. and is free with museum admission.
