Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. An 80s superstar, spectacular WaterFire and delicious food trucks are just a few things happening this weekend.
Friday, September 2
Head over to the Twin River Events Center to see multi-platinum superstar Bret Michaels live. Bret Michaels has been entertaining us for more than three decades, and he is still bringing the same excitement to the stage. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Food Truck Friday
Food Truck Fridays is happening this Friday, and every Friday through September 30, at the Roger Williams Park Carousel Village. Enjoy a smorgasbord of great food from some of the area's best food trucks. The trucks will be there from 5-8 p.m.
Saturday, September 3
Hope Street Farmers Market
The East Side is a beautiful neighborhood in Providence where you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants and quirky boutiques. There's also an exceptional farmers market held at Lippitt Park every Saturday in the summer through October. Browse through dozens of local farmers and vendors, and enjoy music from local bands as you walk through the park. The market opens at 9 a.m.
Nemr is a Lebanese/American who has been credited with helping establish the stand-up comedy scene throughout the Middle East. Nemr is on a full tour of the U.S., bringing his act to the Rhode Island Comedy Connection. Saturday's shows are at 8 and 10 p.m.
Sunday, September 4
WaterFire Full Lighting
WaterFire will be holding a new full lighting starting at sunset this Sunday. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of WaterFire, an art installation of nearly 100 bonfires set ablaze on the surface of three rivers right in the middle of Providence. This WaterFire is sponsored by Providence Tourism Council. The fires are lit at 7:35 p.m.
