The Providence Train Station is getting a facelift! ... Well, the plaza is at least. Construction and improvements will begin March 28 to rehabilitate the South Plaza (downtown side). These activities, anticipated to take about three weeks, will involve lane restrictions on Gaspee St. East and West, from Francis Street to the Providence Station.

Starting March 28, this will be in effect weekdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. No parking will be allowed in the metered areas through mid-April.

Did you know Providence Station is the busiest station in the MBTA network (outside of Boston)?! And it ranks 15th out of the 500 stations in Amtrak's network.
