Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. A fantastic musical, pet parade and a spooky sparkling spectacle round out this week's events in Providence.

 Friday, October 23:

Newsies
Straight from Broadway to the Providence Performing Arts Center comes the smash-hit musical from Disney, "Newsies." This 2012 Tony Award-winning musical has everyone raving, with The New York Times saying it's "a musical worth singing about!" The show runs through October 25. Friday's show starts at 7:30 p.m.

SALON - Black Social Dance
Join a discussion at the Providence Athenaeum about contemporary dance, music and text and how it weaves its way into the history, culture and spiritual traditions of African Americans and the African Diaspora. This discussion gears up for February's Urban Bush Women performance for Black History Month. The discussion starts at 5 p.m.

 Saturday, October 24:

10th Annual Halloween Iron Pour
The Steel Yard is celebrating their 10th anniversary of the Annual Halloween Iron Pour. Watch as the artists of The Steel Yard pour more than 2,500 pounds of molten iron in a sparkling display. There will be plenty of music and local food there as well. The festivities start at 5 p.m.

27th Annual PetWalk
Join our furry friends over at the Providence Animal Rescue League for their 27th Annual PetWalk at the Roger Williams Park. Every year hundreds of locals and their pets come together to show their support for homeless animals in need. Come down to walk, but stay to enjoy the wonderful family fun activities including pet games, activities for the kids and a canine costume contest. This year's theme is "Most Rhode Island." Registration begins at 10 a.m.

 Sunday, October 25:

Monster Dash 5k
Pull together your best costume and head to downtown Providence for the Monster Dash 5K. This ghoulish dash races through the city and culminates with a run through the tunnels to the East Side. Be sure not to get lost in the dark! And as always, zombie walkers are always welcome. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m.
