Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. Providence is playing host to a bevy of pop-culture and comic book icons, a holiday classic opens, a special WaterFire lights up downtown and much more.

 Friday, November 6:

Rhode Island Comic Con
Show your inner geek at the fourth annual Rhode Island Comic Con. This year they have expanded the show to two venues and 110 celebrities, including actors from "Game of Thrones," "Star Trek" and "Star Wars." Join in the festivities with plenty of parties, gaming and panels. Comic Con opens at 3 p.m. on Friday and runs through Sunday.

Motown the Musical
Head on over to the Providence Performing Arts Center to see "Motown the Musical," a true American dream story that follows Berry Gordy's journey to becoming a music mogul. With "Motown the Musical" you'll be able to experience the story behind some of the most influential music of our time. Friday's show starts at 7:30 p.m., with additional performances on Saturday and Sunday.

 Saturday, November 7:

A Christmas Carol
Rhode Island's favorite holiday tradition, "A Christmas Carol," returns this year to Trinity Repertory Company. Follow Ebenezer Scrooge as he examines his life through three ghosts that pay him a visit on Christmas Eve. The play runs through December 31. Saturday's show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Veterans Day WaterFire
WaterFire will be having a special lighting for Veterans Day. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of WaterFire, an art installation of nearly 100 bonfires set ablaze on the surface of three rivers right in the middle of Providence. This event is sponsored by Bank of America. The fires will be lit around 6:38 p.m.

 Sunday, November 8:

CMT On Tour
Country music has taken the nation by storm, and now you can see some of your favorite and up-and-coming artists in one place.
