Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. The holiday season is here! Enjoy some festive events happening around the state. 

 Friday, December 4: 

Wynton Marsalis & Big Band Holidays
The holiday season gets into full swing at The VETS with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer/trumpeter. The show, "Big Band Holidays," will feature holiday favorites with vocals by Denzal Sinclaire. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Rachel Feinstein
Get ready for some sidesplitting comedy at the Comedy Connection of Rhode Island as they bring you nationally touring comedian and actress Rachel Feinstein. Feinstein is known for her spot on impressions of various ethnicities and genders. The show starts at 8 p.m.

 Saturday, December 5:
 

Boat Rides with Santa
Take in a whole new view of Providence and visit Santa at the same time. Santa will be on board the Providence River Boat Tours to guide you through Providence's waterways and listen to your Christmas wishes. Complimentary hot cocoa and treats will be provided to keep you warm. Rides start at 12 p.m.

Providence Tree Lighting Ceremony 
It's that time of year again ... the Providence tree is ready to be lit up for the holiday season. The lighting ceremony will feature local award-winning skating teams, activities for the kids and music for all to enjoy. The festivities start at 5 p.m. at the Alex and Ani City Center.

 Sunday, December 6:

Festa di Natale, Christmas on the Plaza
Meet Santa, enjoy wonderful music, and bring the kids for some family friendly activities all on DePasquale Plaza on Federal Hill. The first annual Festa di Natale will also feature a beautiful tree lighting right in the middle of the plaza. All of the activities start at 2 p.m.
