Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. Classic rock, Chinese dragon boats and a colorful Latino Music Festival round out this week's Weekend Roundup.


 Friday, September 4: 

Tom Cotter from "America's Got Talent" 
Enjoy some side-splitting comedy at the Comedy Connection as Tom Cotter takes the stage. Many will remember Tom from "America's Got Talent" in 2012, and although he lost to a dog act, that didn't stop him. Tom has been all over the world since then and he's stopping right here in Rhode Island. There are two shows at 8 & 10:15 p.m.

Wovenhand & Marissa Nadler
The Columbus Theatre is the perfect setting for this Colorado-based folk rock project to spread its wings. Enjoy the sounds of Wovenhand with special guest Marissa Nadler in this one-of-a-kind venue. This is an all-ages show, and the doors open at 8 p.m.

 Saturday, September 5:

The J. Geils Band
Head over to the beautiful India Point Park and enjoy some classic rock by the water. 94 HJY and RI Waterfront Events bring you The J. Geils Band performing live! Dance to all of your favorites like Freeze Frame and Must of Got Lost while celebrating 94 HJY's 34th birthday. Opening acts start at 5:30 p.m.

Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival 
The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council presents RI's Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival at Festival Pier in Pawtucket, RI. Enjoy cultural music and dance performances, dumpling eating contests and food trucks galore at the Taiwan Day Festival happening from 10:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. along with the Dragon Boat races happening all day.

 Sunday, September 6:

Latino Music Festival
Dance to some of the best tropical, merengue and reggaeton music from around Latin America with Rhode Island's 1st Annual Latino Music Festival at India Point Park. This fun-filled festival is perfect for all ages with children under 12 being free with a paying adult. There is even an exclusive VIP Dockside Lounge for 21+ attendees that includes all day admission, a complimentary beverage and access to dockside seating. The festivities start at 1 p.m.
