"[Lady of the Camellias]…a stunning spectacle of leaps and spins that feel larger than life in the tiny space that is the black box theatre." –BroadwayWorld.com
Commissioned in 2016 and created specifically for the Black Box Theatre, Gianni Di Marco's one-act Lady of the Camellias received resounding acclaim from critics and audiences alike. The powerful ballet tells the story of Marguerite Gautier whose illicit romance unravels into betrayal, while a debilitating illness consumes her.
The mixed repertory program will also feature world premiere works by local arts leader and choreographer yon Tande and Boston-based choreographer Kurt Douglas.
