Restaurants and hotels throughout Providence are paying tribute to man's best friend with a host of themed nights and specials. "Yappy Hour" takes place on Monday nights from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A Bar offering everything from doggy treats and product samples to door prizes and furry fashion shows. The Chow Fun Food group, founded by animal-loving restaurateur John Elkhay, not only allows dogs at Luxe Burger Bar and Rick's Roadhouse but is developing a special menu for these special friends. Many Providence hotels encourage guests to bring along their four-legged friends including The Providence Biltmore Hotel, the Westin Providence, Hilton Providence, Radisson Hotel Providence Harbor, Downtown Providence Courtyard by Marriott and Hotel Providence, which all welcome pets for a small additional charge.
