Green Practices

The RICC has been taking an active role in incorporating green practices in the management of this facility. Green Committee meetings are held monthly to discuss and implement environmental initiatives.
Current Practices

  • Recycling of all bottles and cans
  • Recycling of all cardboard discarded on the tradeshow floor through use of large recycling totes and a dedicated dumpster
  • Recycling bins in all public spaces
  • All office paper is recycled by administrative staff.
  • A pulper is utilized in our kitchen to recycle food
  • Reception napkins are produced from recycled paper
  • Installed Variable Speed Drives on our mechanical equipment, particularly on our chillers and water pumps
  • Use of occupancy sensors for lights in all emergency stairwells
  • Use of occupancy sensors for lights in all bathrooms
  • Increased frequency of changing air filters
  • Water conservation through use of flush valves on toilets and urinals and automatic faucets in all restrooms.
  • Green chemical used in all water treatment systems
  • All green chemical used for general cleaning
  • All appropriate remaining food is donated to charitable organizations
  • All cooking oil is recycled and turned into biodiesel
