Warwick Museum of Art will be holding a series of Painting Florals with pastels classes on Thursday evenings. The classes are open to adults, and will run for 4 consecutive weeks beginning on September 15. They will be held from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Instructor and artist Lisa Kretchman will teach the classes. All skill levels are welcome.

The intense pigment of soft pastels is ideal for rendering flowers. From a delicate drawing on toned paper to robust strokes over an underpainting, students will explore several ways of working with pastels. In each class, students will complete a pastel painting to take home.

Ms. Kretchman will demonstrate a technique and have the students follow on a small, informal test painting. Students will then continue in that technique, creating a larger painting in class, using photo and live references. The instructor will be available to assist students individually as they work and continue with demonstration as needed. Class fee is $55.00 per person. Materials are included. Registration before the first class begins is required by calling Patty Martucci, Program Director at 401-737-0010 or emailing patty@warwickmuseum.org.
