The 2016 Rhode Island Spring Flower & Garden Show returns to the Rhode Island Convention Center February 18-21 and this year is unlike any other. Get ready to explore flowers, landscaping designs and even a culinary series. Check out below for five can’t-miss things to do.

Reminisce Band
On Friday, February 19, step back in time with popular band Reminisce, who will dazzle the crowd with music from the 50s and 60s. Spend an evening with flowers and a little bit of jazz to set the perfect Friday night vibe.

Garden-to-Table Culinary Series
The Flower Show is introducing a “Garden-to-Table” Culinary Series in 2016. Join chefs, mixologists and other culinary professionals as they show you how to make the most out of your garden. We all like those farm-to-table flavors, so why not learn to do it at home.

Speaker Henry Homeyer
Providence Journal writer Henry Homeyer is stepping out from behind the keyboard and stepping up on stage to bring you “How to Eat Something From Your Vegetable Garden Every Day of the Year.” Learn all about how to make the most out of your garden, even in the winter. With a new culinary addition to the show, this is a can’t-miss lecture.

Children’s Activities (because it’s not only about the adults)

The Zoomobile
Who says garden shows are only for adults? Roger Williams Park Zoo is bringing along the Zoomobile. After you stroll through the exhibits, reward the kids with a visit to the Zoomobile, appearing on Thursday and Friday at noon.

Metamorphosis Puppet Show
Be sure to take the kids to see the Norman Bird Sanctuary's Metamorphosis Puppet Show. Enjoy this educational and fun way to spend some quality time with your kids while the whole family is getting to know the best part of spring — gardening.
