Roger Williams Park Zoo

The Roger Williams Park Zoo is perfect for spending a few hours walking around and enjoying the animals. And yes, the animals are out even in the winter! A lot of them are actually more active and playful in the winter, especially the snow leopards.
Providence Children's Museum

Even if they're on vacation, kids can still learn while they're having fun. The Providence Children's Museum has plenty of interactive exhibits for the kids to play and learn. It's recommended that you reserve your ticket for a specific date and time block ahead of your visit. From Saturday, Feb. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 27, the museum will be open for two sessions: 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:30–4:30 p.m.
Base Station VR Lounge

Base Station VR Lounge offers action-based virtual reality. Let the kids fight their way through zombie hordes, dance around with electronic swords, or explore fantastic virtual worlds. Check out their website for special coupons and to learn about their COVID policies.
RISD Museum

With thousands of pieces of art on display at any given time, there's sure to be something for everyone's interests at the RISD Museum. Kids under 18 are always free, and all admission is free Thursdays and Fridays 5–7 p.m. and all day Sundays. Advance ticket reservations are required.
BankNewport City Center

A great way to exercise is ice skating. The BankNewport City Center is located in the heart of downtown Providence. Bring your own skates or rent them — there's no excuse not to skate and have fun with your kids.
Dave & Buster's

Dave & Buster's is the perfect adventure for parents and kids alike. No matter what type of game you like to play, you'll find it there. And, there is a full restaurant with a great kids menu in case the little ones get hungry.
R1 Indoor Karting

If you feel the need for speed, buckle up at R1 Indoor Karting in nearby Lincoln. It features a European-style asphalt track and electric Biz Karts for your racing adventure. There’s also an arcade and interactive darts, for the slower folks in your group, as well as on-site dining. For the adventurous, there's axe throwing at the Axe Bar and Timezone, a team-based escape room-style challenge.
