Rhode Island's latest celebrity is a big hit with the kids. American Girl's® 2015 Girl of the YearTM, Grace ThomasTM, hails from the Blackstone Valley and on Saturday, September 19, the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council - in partnership with American Girl Boston - presents the Grace Thomas Train Ride Experience. Learn about Grace's childhood, as told in her three books, while riding a train through the Blackstone Valley National Historical Park. Although a fictional story, this train will take you past the real landmarks mentioned in Grace's story, such as Slater Mill, the Blackstone Valley Bike Path, and the Blackstone River and Canal. In addition to the train ride, there will be Grace-inspired activities, crafts, food and photo opportunities.
The Grace Thomas Train Ride Experience leaves Woonsocket Depot, 1 Depot Square, on Saturday, September 19. Trains depart at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Click here for more info and pricing.
