Honeycrisp, Gala, Cortland and McIntosh are just some of the delicious (oh and Red Delicious!) apples grown in Rhode Island.

Apple picking is a yearly tradition for my family. We pick bags of juicy apples while sipping homemade hot apple cider. The. Best. My kids like to see who can reach for the highest apples possible. Fun is had by all.

But what do you do once you have all those bags of apples sitting on your counter? Make one of these recipes from a local chef, of course. My favorite is Gregg's Mile High Apple Pie.
