Grilling in the backyard is fun, but sometimes it’s nice to put down the spatula and let someone else do the cooking. When it’s time for a night off from the barbecue, move your outdoor eating to one of the PVD Food Truck Events! With at least 15 food trucks rotating in different locations all month long, there’s something for everyone, from picky eaters to adventurous samplers.
Best of all, everyone will find a truck they love by the end of the night.
Each of the 16 events we’re hosting features great food and live music. Check out where the food trucks are taking over in July:
Food Truck Friday Carousel Village
July 5, 12, 19 & 26 | 5–8:30 p.m.
Our flagship event continues strong for its fifth year in a row at the Carousel Village at Roger Williams Park! Every Friday through September, Rhode Islanders from all over come to eat amazing food and listen to live music. This event is perfect for families — kids will love the carousel, Woodlands Express train and Hasbro playground. Parents will love the beer, wine and margaritas from the Trinity Brewhouse tent (remember your beer stein, Mug Club members!).
Food Truck Nights at Holy Trinity
July 3 | 6–10 p.m.
Food trucks return to Holy Trinity just in time for the 4th of July. Join us right off Route 146A, where we’ll be celebrating Independence Day with tasty food. While you munch on your cuisine of choice, watch the fireworks shooting off at nearby Barry Field — Holy Trinity has the perfect view!
Scituate Food Trucks & Concert Nights
July 10 & 24 | 5–8 p.m.
North Scituate, RI
Scituate is back on the map starting this month! Find us at the gazebo, where the view of the live music is perfect. After a game of basketball or tennis at the courts across the street, grab a spot on the green for your picnic blanket or lawn chair, and wind down with some great grub.
Food Truck Night at Sons of Liberty
July 11 | 5:30–8:30 p.m.
South Kingstown, RI
If you love pairing food with refreshing drinks, you won’t want to miss this event. Grab a cold one from Sons of Liberty Beer & Spirits (whether it be an award-winning Loyal 9 cocktail or a distilled whiskey made from in-house brews), then snag a hot meal from your favorite food truck. Once you’re settled with your fixings, tune in to live fusion jazz provided by the Brian James Quartet.
Food Truck Concert Nights
July 13 | 4:30–8 p.m.
We hope you’re ready to rock! Concert Night continues with the Southbound Band playing your favorite country and classic rock hits at Chase Farm in Lincoln. Get your favorite food, a tasty beer or margarita from the Trinity Brewhouse tent (don’t forget your mug, Mug Club members), and park yourself on the hill early. It has the best view of the band and fills up fast.
Warren Summer Concert Series & Food Truck Nights
July 14 & 28 | 5–8 p.m.
Walk from the Warren Town Beach or cycle over from the East Bay Bike Path to Burr’s Hill for great food provided by the food truck rotation. Gather around the enormous band shell with your picnic blanket and food of choice and tune in to country rock hits by Beer Money on July 14 and chill acoustic vibes with Brian Defusco and Dave Duarte on July 28.
Food Trucks at the Fairgrounds
July 17 | 5–8 p.m.
PVD Food Truck Events continue to expand throughout the state this month. Find us just outside the quaint historic district of Foster ready to bring urban eats to rural Rhode Island. WIth food in hand, you can explore the shops and sites of western RI.
Warwick Food Truck Night
July 18 | 5–8 p.m.
We’re headed towards the water for another Warwick Food Truck Night — this time, find us at Pawtuxet Park by the gazebo. Food trucks will be serving their best fare with a fantastic view of the Pawtuxet. Grab a bite and relax looking out at the scenic river.
The Assembly of Food Trucks
July 21 | 3–7 p.m.
Food trucks, assemble! You’ll want to arrive early for this super-popular event. Harrisville is central to plenty of neighboring rural communities who love to eat local. After grabbing your favorite meal, bring it to the grassy area along the pond and waterfall.
Food Truck Concert Nights at Diamond Hill
July 25 | 5–8 p.m.
There’s plenty of ways to work up an appetite at Diamond Hill, from playing catch in the park to walking on the trails. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the top of the summit — you can see the Boston skyline when the weather is clear!. The food truck rotation has you covered after a long day of play with a variety of tasty snacks and meals.
Mulligan's Island Food Truck Night
July 27 | 5–9 p.m.
We hope you’re ready for great food, plus a great cause. For the first hour, you can get moving with other food truck fanatics at our annual Zumbathon. All you need to join the party are your gym clothes and a donation for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Rhode Island chapter. Whether you worked out or watched the participants, stick around from 6 to 9 p.m. for live music by The Becky Chace Band.
Admission to all events is free. Every food truck accepts cash, credit and debit.
If you’re planning to bring a group, many events offer VIP accommodations, like limited reserved seating, prepaid food/drinks, and sponsorship opportunities. For more information, email Eric Weiner directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
