One of Providence's newest attractions comes in the form of 12 spinning circular carts full of fun. When you hear "bumper cars" you think carnival fun crashing into your best friend (or younger sibling), but now you'll think of ice and, well, still crashing into your best friend.

The Alex and Ani City Center is one of three places in the country to feature these bumper cars that operate on ice. Each ride lasts 20 minutes and costs $12. The bumper cars run at the same time as regular ice skating, so don't worry about not being able to skate at the rink.

The schedule this year is as follows:

MONDAY–THURSDAY
Shared ice bumper cars & ice skating
4–8 p.m.

FRIDAY

Full ice bumper cars

Ice Bumper Cars

And even though one third of the rink will be dedicated to bumper cars at some part of the day, it's still twice the size of Rockefeller Center's rink — plenty of room for public ice skating for all!

And the best thing about these carts is that they have real wheels, so they run year-round.
