The journey to the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship begins in Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center from March 30-31. The NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey East Regional will bring four teams in the final NCAA hockey standings to Rhode Island to compete in single-elimination games on Saturday, for the right to advance to the Frozen Four.
The first game on Saturday features the #1 seed Minnesota State Mankato versus #4 Providence College at 1 p.m. The following game tips off at 4:30 p.m. with #2 Northeastern University versus #3 Cornell University. The two winning teams from Saturday’s matches will compete against each other in the East Regional Final competition on Sunday, March 31. Winners will then be on the road to the Frozen Four for a chance at the National Championship title.
If you want to get even more hockey action in you can go to the open practices Friday morning from 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Providence is home to plenty of great restaurants and bars to grab a bite before you go cheer on your favorite team. If you're looking for something to do before or after the games, check out downtown's ice bumper cars at the Alex and Ani City Center, or head inside for some fun at Dave & Buster's.
