Welcome to 2018, the year of possibility. Perhaps it’s our blind optimism, but we are excited for what this year will bring us (and you!). So let’s get back into the swing of things now that the holidays are over and check out what's happening at the PWCVB and with you, our partners.
The PWCVB's Annual Report is available on our website here. Be sure to take a look at this recap of FY2017.
Providence Restaurant Weeks is in full swing now through January 27. With nearly 100 restaurants participating, you should start browsing menus and skip cooking dinner for a while. Be sure to enter our contest giving away tickets to "On Your Feet!" at PPAC and a gift card to Parkside.
Did you know the PWCVB has a large informational display located in the center of the Providence Train Station? The station sits on the well-traveled Northeast Corridor line and 1.2 million people walk through on a yearly basis. Advertising space is available and ads run from $150 to $600 a month. Contact Christine Phillips at cphillips@GoProvidence.com or 401-456-0223 for more info.
The Spring/Summer issue of the PWCVB's visitors guide, GoProvidence, will be on the shelves April 1. GoProvidence, the primary fulfillment piece of the PWCVB, is produced twice a year and is in the hands of thousands of visitors, meeting planners and convention attendees. Don't miss out on the chance to advertise your business to these potential customers. Click here to book your ad now or contact Christine Phillips at cphillips@GoProvidence.com.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it happens to fall on Ash Wednesday, so be sure to keep that in mind while preparing your menus.
The PWCVB has begun promoting Valentine's Day and February Vacation with dedicated web pages featuring events and more. Be sure to add your events to our online calendar. It may take up to seven days for your event to be posted on our website.
Don't miss the PWCVB's next Partner Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Omni Providence from 3:30–5 p.m., where our President & CEO Martha Sheridan will be speaking. RSVP to CRM Database and Research Coordinator Beth-Anne Tremaine.
Bumper cars on ice? Who even knew that was a thing? Well, the Alex and Ani City Center did — and put Providence on the map, too! That’s right, we are home to THE first outdoor ice bumper car attraction in the country. Want a turn? It's only $12 for 20 minutes, Monday through Friday from 4 p.m.–8 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday nights from 10 p.m.–midnight. Reservations are also available Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. beginning January 20.
The Arcade Providence was featured on the "Rachael Ray Show" back in November. Check out how they’ve made micro-loft living comfortable.
