The Wyndham Garden Providence is being updated and rebranded as the Hilton Garden Inn Providence. Scheduled to fly the Hilton Garden Inn flag in July 2016, the hotel will showcase a refreshed interior consistent with the latest Hilton Garden Inn brand standards, including designs and amenities inspired by its waterfront surroundings and rich nautical history.

Congratulations to Massimo for being crowned King of the Hill at the 17th Annual Federal Hill Stroll. Andino’s was also a big hit with the nearly 1,200 people who attended the recent event, winning Most Creative for their offerings.

We knew our friends at Chez Pascal were creative in the kitchen but they’ve outdone themselves with the creation of the “Chez-pron,” a new apron designed by the people who use and need it most – chefs. Read co-owner Kristin Gennuso’s blog post about it here.

Homewood Suites by Hilton/Warwick won a number of awards at the Homewood Suites Conference, including: The Heart Award – Most Improved/Exceeded Expectations In Problem Resolution, the Extended Stay – Most Improved Merit Award, and Regional – Highest Welcome of HiltonHonors. Even their very own Charlie Ryan took home an award, the Regional GM Award, all Homewood Suites by Hilton.

Do sun salutations in the actual sun every Friday morning in the gardens at Blithewold. The gorgeous house takes advantage of its spectacular setting with outdoor programming all summer long.

Not to toot our own horn, but … the PWCVB is happy to announce that we have won a 2016 Pinnacle Award - “Best CVB/DMO – NORTHEAST” - as voted on by Successful Meetings readers. This award is based on the quality of service extended to our customers to ensure a successful on-site experience during their time in our state.

The June 13 issue of USA Today highlighted Seven Stars Bakery as part of the “Bread Revolution that could change how you think about carbs."

The June 20 issue of the The Boston Globe named WaterFire one of the “10 Good Reason to let the Kids Stay up Past Their Bedtime.”

SmarterTravel.com highlighted the best things to “do, eat, see and stay” in Providence.

All of these articles were as a result of our media outreach efforts. In the first two weeks of June, the PWCVB has hosted 24 travel writers from such outlets as: Sherman’s Travel, Smarter Travel, USA Today and Oyster.com. Others lined up for the summer include AFAR, Paste and the Charlotte Observer.
