Celebrate the start of the growing season by coming to Southside Community Land Trust’s (SCLT) 24th Annual Rare & Unusual Plant Sale May 14-15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This much-anticipated event attracts an average of 2,000 plant lovers of all kinds. The Plant Sale is held at City Farm, a lush oasis at the corner of West Clifford and Dudley streets on Providence’s South Side. SCLT members are invited to a preview from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The sale features hundreds of varieties of sustainably grown annuals, perennials, and fruit and vegetable plant starts (roughly 20,000 in all!), including 55 varieties of heirloom tomatoes. City Farm uses seeds from only high-quality, trusted sources, and every year selects some that are hard (or even impossible) to find at local nurseries. The event features live music and gardening experts on hand to answer your growing questions.
