Welcome to another GoProvidence Weekend Roundup. Stars on the screen and in the sky, Foo Fest fun and reggae by the water are in store for you this weekend.


 Friday, August 7: 

Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival
The Rhode Island International Film Festival is in full swing this year. Check out some amazing short films from around the world screening at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Screenings run from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. Click here for the full schedule.

Skygazers at Providence Children's Museum
Children ages 5 and up get a chance to meet astronomers from the Brown University Science Outreach and experiment with solar telescopes, see models of asteroids and even create their own constellations. The Providence Children's Museum is free starting at 5 p.m. for the MetLife Family Friday.

 Saturday, August 8:

AS220 Foo Fest
The Foo Fest returns to take over downtown Providence this year with hours of live music and family friendly activities. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door with kids 10 and under free! The event runs from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., with family friendly activities from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Waterfront Reggae Festival 
Head over to India Point Park for a wonderful Reggae Festival on the water! Enjoy 10 hours of live reggae, ska and roots music. Tickets are on sale now for $40 in advance and $50 day of. Kids under 12 are free with a paying adult. The show starts at 12:30 and runs until 10 p.m.

 Sunday, August 9:

Providence LGBTQ Film Festival
If you didn't get enough films from the Rhode Island International Film Festival, be sure to check out their sidebar event, the 16th Annual Providence LGBTQ Film Festival. The festival is at the Bell Street Chapel with more than 40 international and domestic films made by members of the LGBTQ community. For a full list of showings click here.
