Listen, I love a pumpkin spice … well, anything … as much as the next person, but if you’re like me, you still have a summer bucket list that you may not have finished. The good news? Summer’s not over yet. In fact, in Lil’ Rhody we’re in the midst of some of the best weather of the year! So, just in case you need a few ideas, here are some things that are still on my “Summer in the City” bucket list.

Row Your Boat

Get a new view of The Creative Capital — from the water! Providence Kayak Company offers a unique new way to enjoy historic downtown. Go at your own pace as you paddle your way through the riverbanks.

Be a Tourist

And speaking of boating, it’s always better with some fun facts. With a drink in hand from the Hot Club, hop aboard and enjoy a narrated tour along the Providence River with the Providence River Boat Company. Take in the riverbank view, without doing all the work. Had enough of the water for a while? Check out Providence’s new self-guided historic walking tours!

City Views

If you haven’t been to the Rooftop at The G, you’re doing summer in Providence wrong. Looking for something Instagram-worthy? This is where you’ll find it. You had me at champagne Popsicle.

Poolside Cocktails

I’m still looking to make a friend with a pool, but in the meantime, I can’t wait to check out Harbor Lights. You’ll have to venture out of Providence, but you won’t have to pack a lunch, because you can nosh on fare from their Tiki Truck. The truck not only serves food, but cocktails as well, and did I mention it’s parked next to the pool? The facility also has golf, a marina, and another restaurant, among other amenities.

Shop (Local!) Til’ You Drop!

The Providence Flea is back for another season, situated along South Water Street on Sundays through September 10. Check out local vendors, food trucks, live music, and, of course, it helps support our community!

Eat Ice Cream for Dinner

No summer would be complete without opting to spoil your supper and eat dessert first once in a while. Three Sisters, Mike’s Ice and Like No Udder are all solid options. Or just buy a pint from the market and pick your favorite park bench. You really can’t go wrong.
