Phish is kicking off a seven-date fall tour right here in Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Nov. 29 and 30. If you’re one of the lucky Phish-heads with a ticket, check out some of the best places to pregame or explore before the show.
Trinity Brewhouse
One of the first brewpubs to open in New England, Trinity Brewhouse continues to be a top destination for local craft beer fans more than 20 years later. They craft their beer with the finest quality hops from around the world using filtered water from the Scituate Reservoir. Just around the corner from the Dunk, Trinity serves great pub fare for a quick bite and brew before the show. They’re also open until 2 a.m. if you need a place to stop after the encore.
The Malted Barley
Enjoy a genuine craft beer experience at The Malted Barley, a restaurant serving 37 craft beer lines and more than 60 other bottled and can varieties, along with wine and a full bar. Noshing comes easy here with its famous homemade pretzels right out of the oven, served on their own or as a sandwich. Bonus, the eatery serves delicious salads and gluten-free options.
Knead Doughnuts
Whether it’s an early morning fix or a midday pick-me-up, be sure to stop into Knead Doughnuts to indulge in a delectable vanilla bean, sour cream old-fashioned, or peanut butter-glazed, jelly-filled doughnut. Check out their seasonal and daily specials for an exclusive treat.
Luxe Burger Bar
Minutes away from the Dunk, Luxe Burger Bar allows you to build your own burger, ranging from beef, turkey, and chicken, to bison, tuna and vegan. Want to sandwich your burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches? Go right ahead! If you can dream it, they'll make it. And don't forget to load up your tots with all the fixins!
Arcade Providence
Flanking both Westminster and Weybosset streets, the Arcade Providence is the oldest indoor mall in the country. Now a mix of residences and retail, the Arcade is home to New Harvest Coffee & Spirits, Livi’s Pockets and more. Carmen & Ginger, a staple of the Arcade for many years, has expanded beyond clothing and jewelry to housewares and accessories, and also spurred a larger vintage movement in the area.
Downtown Providence Restaurants
The heart of the city, downtown Providence is compact and walkable, with most restaurants, nightlife, attractions, and shopping located within easy walking distance of area hotels.
