With the Winter Olympics in full swing in Italy, we took a look at some of the ways you can have a little Olympic fun of your own, right here in Providence.
The Providence Rink
Whether you're into figure skating, speed skating or just trying to stay on your feet, The Providence Rink is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. Public skating is open daily from 10 a.m.–10 p.m., and guests can skate for up to three hours with their admission fee.
If you'd rather skate with a hockey stick in your hand, the rink is available for rental outside public skating hours. It's a perfect chance to practice your slap shot or grab your teammates and recreate the 1980 Miracle on Ice.
Track 15
Dying to try your hand at curling? Great news! Track 15 has two lanes of street curling open through March 31. Rent a lane for up to six people or get in on league play on Tuesdays and weekends.
Or stay warm inside and watch your favorite events on the big screen. And with dining options featuring everything from Mexican and Italian to Indian and Turkish cuisine, you can put together your own Olympic spread to enjoy while you watch.
Amica Mutual Pavilion

If, like me, you'd rather watch sports than compete, the Amica Mutual Pavilion has you covered. Head to a Providence Bruins game for a sneak peek at hockey's up-and-coming players before they get to Boston. Or treat yourself to Olympic-quality figure skating at Stars on Ice in April.
