It’s safe to say that crunchy leaves and soup are some of my favorite things about fall ... not to mention Halloween candy and comfy sweaters. Here at GoProvidence we put our best ghoul, I mean foot, forward because there is nothing like Rhode Island in the fall. Here are a few things happening here at the PWCVB and with you, our partners.

If you’re a restaurateur, we're sure you've started to think about Thanksgiving (and the holiday season in general). We’ve already had some inquiries from folks looking for somewhere to take the stress out of the holiday. If you are going to be open for Thanksgiving, be sure to let us know by emailing Kristen Adamo, vice president of marketing and communications.
Our new GoProvidence visitors guides are in! They’re the best way to help our visitors get the lay of the land and an in-depth understanding of what makes the Providence area so great. If you’d like a box for your attraction, hotel or restaurant, please reach out to Leisure Sales & Visitor Center Manager Elise Swearingen. The GoProvidence guide is also available online here.

Roger Williams Park Zoo & Carousel Village welcomes back the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, running now through Nov. 5. This breathtaking display of thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns includes hundreds of pumpkins with intricately carved designs. This year’s theme features dinosaurs, the ice age and the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Rome. Don't miss a new addition to the event — the Soaring Eagle Zip Ride — where you can view the Spectacular from 115 feet in the air and experience the trail in a whole new way.
What’s better than beer in October? German beer in Oktober. Join The Malted Barley (Providence) at their Oktoberfest, Oct. 13–15, featuring music from Hofbrau Spielers, Bavarian Brother Band, Old Post Road Oktoberfest Band and Vagabonds. Featured breweries include Von Trapp, Hacker Pschorr, Schofferhoffer Braufactum and Weinhenstephaner.
Don't miss WaterFire Providence's FireBall on Thursday Oct. 19 at the WaterFire Arts Center. This stellar celebration includes dinner, dancing, art and special surprises. Performances include aerialist Nicole Raab, Grupo Ondas Capoeira, the Extraordinary Rendition Band, Jesus Andujar & Grupo Sazon and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School Latin Quintet.
