Summer is almost officially here, and here's hoping for lots of sunshine. After all, we deserve it with all of the rain we’ve been getting lately!
Read on to find out what's new at the PWCVB and with our partners.
PWCVB News
Stop by the PWCVB’s Visitor Information Center on the ground floor of the Rhode Island Convention Center to check out its fresh new look. We even added an inviting spot for visitors to sit back and peruse your brochures and info. While you're at it, keep your eyes peeled for our new welcome banners throughout downtown. The banners are based off of original paintings created for us by Providence Painted Signs, and is a great example of an arts and business collaboration in The Creative Capital.
Please join us for our annual Partner Appreciation Event on Thursday, June 29 at Skyline at Waterplace, from 4 to 6 p.m. Enjoy one of the best views of the city, while networking with new (and old!) partners. RSVP to Beth-Anne Tremaine at Batremaine@goprovidence.com or (401) 456-0225.
The 18th Annual Federal Hill Stroll was last Tuesday, June 6, and despite a minor deluge, the evening was a success. This year's voters named Pane e Vino as King of the Hill and Massimo as the Most Creative Venue. Thank you to all of the participating restaurants for their hard work. Also, thank you to our sponsors, the Federal Hill Commerce Association, OrderUp and Rhode Island Monthly.
Our Summer Kickoff Contest wrapped up this week and received lots of online entries. Thank you to our partners for this contest, the Courtyard by Marriott Providence Downtown, La Gondola Providence and CVS Health Charity Classic's Crave RI.
Providence Restaurant Weeks — or as we like to call it, your cooking sabbatical — is coming up July 9–22 with three-course lunches available for $16.95 and dinners for $29.95 or $34.95. Start making your reservations now.
Be sure to add your summer (and — yikes — start thinking fall) events to our online calendar. It may take up to seven days for your event to be posted on our website, so plan accordingly. Limit descriptions to 180 characters if possible. If you have any questions, please contact CRM Database and Research Coordinator Beth-Anne Tremaine.
Partner Update
This weekend, Providence will host the 41st Annual PrideFest and Illuminated Night Parade on Saturday, June 17. Downtown will be bustling with Pride-related events and festivities.
Rhode Island's largest craft brewery, The Guild, is now open to the public. The Tap Room is open Thursday through Sunday, serving pints and flights from some of New England's greatest craft breweries. The Guild is located at 461 Main Street in Pawtucket.
The Hampton Inn Pawtucket is nearly ready, and we are all excited for another addition to our lodging options. They’re now accepting reservations, starting July 7 and beyond.
As if FoodTrucksIn wasn’t already busy enough, they’ve created another event where you can try some of the best meals on wheels. Poolside Street Eats – Midweek Splash, hosted by Aqua at the Providence Marriott, is every Wednesday, from 4–7 p.m. Enjoy food, fun, live music and pop-up shops.
