Providence’s large Irish-American population — and those who love them — don their green garb and head to historic Smith Hill for this popular annual event. After the parade, continue the celebration downtown with Murphy’s legendary corned beef sandwiches.

Federal Hill Stroll: June 5

Mangia bene in Providence’s famed Little Italy, where nearly 30 restaurants and stores offer samples and discounts. A $30 (plus tax) ticket gains you admission and two complimentary beverages. While we think you can never have too much Italian food, places like Don Jose Tequilas offer plenty of other options.

PVDFest: June 7–10PVDFest 2017

The Creative Capital becomes one big celebration of live music, dance, food and visual art installations. This four-day, multiarts takeover of public spaces, parks and outdoor stages transforms the city into a party, a gallery and a theater — all in one. 

RI Pride Illuminated Night Parade: June 16

The 42nd Annual RI Pride Illuminated Night Parade lights up the night. Revelers take to the streets, participating in one of the only nighttime Pride parades in the country. Stick around for incredible after-parties at hot spots like the Dark Lady and The Stable.

Providence Restaurant Weeks: July 8–21

Rhode Island International Film Festival: August 7–12

An Oscar and BAFTA qualifier, the RI International Film Festival is never short on star power. Filmmakers from more than 60 countries around the world come to Providence to screen feature-length movies and shorts.
