Summer Fun at Roger Williams Park: Food Trucks, Pirate Movies and More

What's more fun than Food Truck Fridays at Roger Williams Park Zoo and Carousel Village? Food Truck Fridays with pirate movies, of course! Presented by the Providence Children's Film Festival and the Providence Parks Department, Pirates in the Park will feature a pirate-themed movie at sunset on the first Friday of the month from May to September. Grab dinner from your favorite food truck, then head across the street to the Boathouse lawn to enjoy the movie. Be sure to bring chairs or a blanket to make your picnic complete.

And there's plenty more going on at the park this summer. Looking for a good workout? Try one of several exercise classes, including yoga, hip hop step aerobics and more. Meet the experts at Ask a Hort (for your horticulture needs) or Walk with a Doc, a walk in the park with informal discussions led by medical professionals one Saturday each month. Or check out the Books and Banter discussion group at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center on the second Saturday of the month.

Keep the kiddos busy with a trip to see Return of the Dinosaurs at the zoo, check out a planetarium show at the Museum of Natural History, or bring the little ones to Wee Wednesdays at the botanical center for their weekly nature themed walks, activities and crafts.
