Join us for our February Opening Reception of 2020

At GALLERY Z – February 2020 - “Two Decades of Gallery Z”. Through Sunday, Feb. 23rd, 2020. Reception Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, 5-9PM. Gallery Z, with its milestone twenty years and over 300 exhibits of Fine Art on historic Federal Hill, Providence, Rhode Island, continues to display a range of genres, styles, and mediums - paintings, silver gelatin photographs, drawings, mixed media, glass, sculptures, assemblages, lithographs, fine ceramics and pottery. Promoting American, European and Armenian artists from the early 20th century to the present, Gallery Z supports emerging and established artists while contributing to fostering an active local arts community.

February’s featured artist is Aghassi (Boghos Taslakian), b. 1964, who began both painting and sculpting while young. He received his art education at the Art College of Armenia and the Academia di Belle Arti di Venezia and has exhibited world-wide, including Venice, Italy; Beirut, Lebanon; Geneva, Switzerland; Spain, Belgium, Armenia; New York, Pennsylvania and California. Exquisite sultry portraitures exalt the human form while their softly blended backgrounds seem to embed deep emotion. Aghassi has been living and painting in Armenia since 2006. Selected pieces from Gallery Z’s Director’s own collection are offered at 50% off. There is a free gift with any purchase.

Original art works are drawn from its vast collection representing over 400 recognized local, regional, national and international fine artists. Handmade jewelry, including by local artists, and eclectic international handicrafts fill the gift shop area. Gallery Z hosts a reception for the current exhibit every third Thursday of the month, twelve months/year. ALL RECEPTIONS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Member Federal Hill Commerce Association, Providence/Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau and Gallery Night Providence, AHARI (Armenian Historical Assn. of RI) and Americans for the Arts. Art is tax-free. Gallery Z Hours: Thurs-Sat 12-8pm, Sun. 12-6pm and by appt. or chance.
