After the buzz of the holiday season, it can be tempting to hunker down and hibernate at home for the next few months. But this year, the Downtown Providence Park Network is giving you a reason to get out and explore downtown with Lumina, a citywide light festival from February 19 to March 5.

Lumina features "Maestro," a set of giant, illuminated musical notes that produce curated music and lighting, turning the street into an interactive performance of light and sound.

Additional installations will include an "Iceberg Trail," a collection of six interactive icebergs that create unique light displays and custom music, and "Taylor Swift's World," featuring large-scale sculptures inspired by Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. The installation includes representations of iconic objects like Taylor's blue guitar and an oversized pink boot. This year's "Starlight" installations are dedicated to the Providence Police, first responders and medical providers from across Rhode Island.

Visit the Lumina website for event schedules and information on local business deals running in conjunction with the event.
