Clouds Hill Museum (originally known as Cedar Hill) is an 1872-1877 transitional Gothic Revival home built for Rhode Island textile industrialist, William Smith Slater, as a wedding gift for his daughter Elizabeth Ives Slater. It has remained in the family, passing from female to female for four generations.
