Providence Area Events This Weekend

Welcome to our GoProvidence Weekend Roundup with everything to do and see in PVD this weekend.

The national tour of "A Beautiful Noise – The Neil Diamond Musical" launches at the Providence Performing Arts Center this weekend, telling the true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a show-stopping American icon. And another new musical, loosely inspired by a true story, opens at AS220. "One Providence Place: A Mall Musical" shares the tale of a group of friends who made a secret home deep inside Providence Place.

Saturday is jam-packed full of things to do no matter what your interests. The 46th Annual Heritage Festival takes over WaterFire Arts Center in the afternoon, with food, music, dancing and more from around the world. It's a lively celebration of the state's rich cultural heritage. Or cheer for your favorite Bruins as they take the ice at the Amica Mutual Pavilion for the Boston Bruins Black & Gold Game. Downtown will be "lit" with the bonfires of WaterFire starting at sunset, and you can catch David Spade at The Vets at 8 p.m.

If comedy is your thing, book a brunch tour on the Comedy Bus. It's a three-hour tour hosted by two of the best R-Rated comics around, with stops at two local restaurants. Tickets include 2 drinks and 2 food items!
