The Cold Work Studio at Gather Cafe is an ice cream-making experience led by master chefs. Up to 6 people per class will each make their own pint of ice cream in this hour-long Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Making Class. Learn the art and science of how ice cream is crafted, with a dedicated workstation for each participant. Choose from classic options, farm-fresh flavors, or even some boozy twists! Each student will enjoy tastings throughout the class, sampling their own creations and others’. During class, dive into our OVER-THE-TOP-PINGS BAR (get it?) featuring house-made fluff, rainbow whipped cream, waffle cones, creamy caramel, dark chocolate fudge, and classic favorites like chocolate sprinkles and gummy bears. You even get to take home their pint at the end of the session. (We’re happy to hold your pint in our freezer for up to a week if you’d prefer to pick it up later and we promise to do our best not to snack on it!)

ISCO Spirits in Providence is the first distillery in Rhode Island’s capital since Prohibition, producing its spirits on the site of a former steel yard that is now home to a vibrant artist and maker community. Inspired by a deep passion for hands-on creation and the quality of product this allows, they distill many of their vodkas, gins and bourbons entirely from scratch. ISCO prides itself on aligning its sourcing with its ideology of sustainability—the base for their products begins with 100% organic corn from their regional farm partner, directly supporting the use of regenerative agricultural practices such as long-term crop rotations and cover crops in order to rebuild soil health, sequester carbon and keep waterways clean. The company works with local farmers in Rhode Island to repurpose its nutrient-dense production “waste” as feed for pigs and cows and employs solar panels to offset a portion of their energy usage. Their creative, artistic approach is about both seeking out the highest quality flavors and contributing to a virtuous cycle of regeneration and repair.
