These shows present custom furniture, home décor, and accessories ranging from traditional to contemporary in a wide variety of designs, materials, and price points. Craftsmen from throughout North America working in all media are invited to apply for an Invitation To Exhibit and sell their work at any or all of the 2012 shows. One-page applications to exhibit are free and available in the "Exhibitor Info" section of the website-- www.FineFurnishingsShows.com. Or call 401-816-0963 for more information.
While there is not an application deadline, please keep in mind that with waiting lists from previous years, new venues, and the increased participation of member pavilions from guilds and associations that all three shows will sell out fast.
The Fine Furnishings Shows provide a venue where artisans have the opportunity to meet with designers, decorators, members of the media, collectors, and the general public to make direct sales, initiate commissions, and generate publicity for their work. Many dedicated exhibitors have developed long-term relationships with clients they originally met at the Fine Furnishings Shows. The shows are open to artists and craftsmen residing and working in North America who are the principal behind the design and craftsmanship of the work. All work must be originally designed, handcrafted, appropriate for home décor, and made in America.
Each show offers exhibitors the opportunity to debut new product, win one of the Best in Show awards, provide demonstrations, and participate in special exhibits. Exhibitors receive year round exposure through the show website as well as via Twitter and Facebook. Participation in special pre-show events and other marketing opportunities are also made available throughout the year to gain exposure for the show and its artisans.
"I sent and handed out the ten free pairs of exhibitor tickets to my best clients and more than half came to the show and said they have plans for more work," says Robbi Staples, an exhibiting furniture maker from Dartmouth, MA. "This face-to-face re-acquaintance with past clients is way better than emails and pictures. And one gentleman who saw an ad the weekend of the show decided to attend for the first time. He ordered a complete bedroom set. Between that and other sales, I now have 7-8 months of orders lined up."
