Today, the City of Providence and the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) announced the release of a limited-edition gift box celebrating Providence-based artists curated by Giving Beyond the Box. The box, titled “Hope Springs Back: A Cool Collection from the Creative Capital,” brings together the work of 18 artists and organizations that make Providence the Creative Capital. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Rhode Island Artists Relief Fund.

“Over the past year, our artist and small business communities have fallen on tough times, but resiliency is our strong suit here in Providence,” said Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. “I am truly inspired by the Giving Beyond the Box project because it sees local community members contributing to a product that benefits the artist community when they need it most, while simultaneously showcasing the unmatched creative talent in our city.”

“This was an incredibly fun project that helps support local artists and small businesses, while offering them an opportunity to be recognized beyond the city,” said Kristen Adamo, PWCVB president and CEO. “And, once you see all the lovely pieces packed into each box, I hope you seek out some of your favorite artists and support them however you can.”

“We were delighted to be involved with this project because we know artists and arts organizations are key to the city of Providence and the entire state of Rhode Island,” said Sandra Enos, Giving Beyond the Box founder and CEO. “Giving Beyond the Box has curated boxes that give back to the community since our founding in 2019. It’s been wonderful to work with our partners here and exciting to work with the artists and arts organizations to feature their work. We hope to include other artists and arts organizations in subsequent editions of the boxes.”

Each box will feature an exclusive apron from Frog & Toad, a beautiful tile or cup from ceramic artists, a stylish bandana, a lovely pin or magnet, something for the kids by local toymakers, gourmet tea or coffee from RI makers, a custom-designed notebook or notecards, and a one-of-a-kind Rhode Island coaster from a Providence printmaker for a total value of more than $150.
