Nearly 100 eateries across Rhode Island are getting ready to participate in the 7th Annual Providence Restaurant Weeks.

In the past few years, Providence has emerged as a culinary capital, and has been named the #2 food city in the U.S. by the readers of Travel & Leisure Magazine.

"We're a city that loves food," said Kristen Adamo from the Providence/Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We've got one of the best culinary schools in the country in Johnson & Wales, we have Narragansett Bay, so we've got wonderful, fresh seafood, local farms, and I think when you put that all together you come up with a really great culinary destination.

Providence Restaurant Weeks will run from July 8 through July 21 and offer three-course, prix fixe lunch for $14.95 and three-course, prix fixe dinner for $29.95.

This year, Providence Restaurant Weeks will be teaming up with Yelp. Diners can check-in from the Yelp mobile app to receive special offers at participating restaurants in Providence Restaurant Weeks. The person who checks-in to the most restaurants from the Yelp mobile app will receive a special prize pack from Yelp and the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau.
