Getting Around
Providence is a uniquely walkable city. Dozens of restaurants and attractions are in walking distance to many of the area hotels. If you find yourself in need of some extra transportation, below are some resources that might help you. There is also ample parking in and around the Downtown Providence area.
RICC Parking
Back to Top of ListThe Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) offers a parking facility that is easily accessible from all major highways and is connected to the RICC, Omni Providence Hotel and Providence Place Mall. They offer a state-of-the-art security system and a professionally trained staff, which translates into the most secure place to park in the City of Providence.
The RICC has recently updated its parking payment to a kiosk-based system, which allows you to pay inside the convention center. Please note, credit cards are the only form of payment accepted.
Parking Rates
Variable Event Parking Rate: $15.00 - $25.00 Variable Range (Event Rate Varies - Subject to Change)
Overnight Rate: $20.00
We are a 24/7 facility. Our overnight rate increases incrementally to a maximum of $20.00 per each 24-hour period.
Hourly Rates – Non-Event Dates:
Up to ½ hr. - $5.00
Up to 1 hr. - $6.00
Up to 1½ hrs. - $7.00
Up to 2 hrs. - $8.00
Up to 2½ hrs. - $9.00
Up to 3 hrs. - $11.00
3 to 10 hrs. - $13.00
10 to 24 hrs. - $20.00

Electric Vehicles
The RICC has several stations in both garages: North Garage (99 West Exchange St.), Level 4 (nearest the Omni Hotel); South Garage (1 Sabin St.), P2 at Street Level. Standard parking rates will apply upon entering the parking facility to charge your vehicle.
Loading Dock
The Loading Dock is located on West Exchange Street about 1/8 mile west of the North Garage entrance. Large trucks should use the following directions for easiest dock access.
From the North: Take Exit 21 (Atwells) from 95 South. Turn right onto Dean Street. Turn right at the light onto West Exchange Street.
From the South: Take Exit 21 (Broadway) from 95 North. Take a left at the 2nd light (Atwells). Turn right onto Dean Street. Turn right at the light onto West Exchange Street.

Providence is conveniently located on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor route, which runs from Boston to Washington, D.C. and back. High-speed Acela service easily transports passengers from New York City to Providence in about two hours and 30 minutes. The train station is located at 100 Gaspee Street, in the heart of the downtown area. For tickets call 1-800-USA-RAIL or visit www.amtrak.com.

MBTA
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) runs low-cost, round-trip rail service from Boston to downtown Providence and to Warwick's Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport. During football season, the MBTA also runs service from Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport and Providence to Gillette Stadium. Check the www.MBTA.com during the season for more information.
