Providence Area Events This Weekend
Welcome to our GoProvidence Weekend Roundup with all the hottest happenings in PVD this weekend.
Kick off your weekend Friday night with the Harlem Globetrotters at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Their 100 Year Tour brings all the trick shots, comedy and jaw-dropping athleticism that's made them legends. It's basketball as pure entertainment, and it never gets old.
Saturday brings RnB at 9 A.M. to The Strand Theatre with soulful vocals and infectious energy. It's the kind of performance that leaves you buzzing with good vibes. And since the event ends at 11 a.m., you'll be out at the ideal time for brunch!
If you're in the mood for something more classical, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra performs Romantic Rachmaninoff at The VETS, featuring Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde" and Rachmaninoff's swoon-worthy Piano Concerto No. 2. It's an evening of orchestral drama at its finest.
Ballet Rhode Island is staging two productions this weekend: "Made on Hope," featuring new works exploring human connection and expression, and "Gwendolyn Goes Hollywood," about two dancing pigs chasing their big-screen dreams (which is exactly as delightful as it sounds).
Looking for more family fun? The Providence Children's Film Festival is showcasing independent and international children's films across the city, while Roger Williams Park Zoo & Carousel Village offers half-price admission during Winter Wonder Days. Or stop by the Providence Children's Museum and check out the new Sock Rink!
