Providence Area Events This Weekend

Welcome to our GoProvidence Weekend Roundup with all the hottest happenings in PVD this weekend.

Kick off the weekend with Food Truck Fridays at Roger Williams Park Zoo & Carousel Village, the beloved weekly tradition that's been drawing crowds for more than 10 years. A rotating roster of 15 local food trucks, cold drinks and plenty of family-friendly fun, it's a tough combination to beat.

The zoo is buzzing right now (literally) with A Bug's World, an immersive new exhibit. It puts the spotlight on the tiny creatures doing big things in our backyards and beyond. Think hands-on activities and a whole new appreciation for the six-legged neighbors you've been ignoring. It'll make you think twice the next time you go to squash a spider.

Also on Friday, the Del McCoury Band takes the stage at the Uptown Theater. Whether you're a lifelong bluegrass devotee or just curious what all the fuss is about, Del McCoury and company have a way of winning over every room they play.

Trinity Rep is staging "Primary Trust," the 2024 Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy about one man's leap of faith and the unexpected friendships he finds along the way. It's offbeat, it's heartwarming, and it's only running until May 10! This weekend is a perfect time to check it out.

Live, from the Uptown Theater, on Saturday night, Tracy Morgan performs his latest stand-up. If you know Tracy Morgan (and if you watched 30 Rock, you absolutely know Tracy Morgan) you already know this one's going to be a good time.

Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, John Legend heads to The VETS for An Evening of Songs & Stories, an intimate show weaving together his greatest hits with personal stories from his 20-year career.
