On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., the Columbus Theatre will be hosting a Fall Fair featuring local artists, makers and sellers. We'll also open up our doors for public tours of the 93-year-old theater and there will be some prizes given out over the course of the afternoon (front row tickets, anyone?).

Confession time: I had never been inside the Columbus before its first show (in its current incarnation) occurred in November 2012. Like most, I was familiar with the marquee that perpetually read "OPENING SOON." Unlike most, after attending that first show, I never left. The theater became a second home and my co-workers became a second family.

Events like the Fall Fair are exciting for me because I get to show off everything I love about what we've built over the last seven years. If you come on a tour, of course you'll see the theaters (yes, we have two separate theaters inside the building) and some generally off-limits parts of the Columbus. But I also get to share some stories about the artists who have performed here and even give you a sneak peek at our future plans. There’s a special kind of magic that lives in this theater, and if you’ve never experienced it before, please come visit us on the 21st!
