Easter Egg Hunts in Rhode Island

Who doesn't love Easter egg hunts? Running around the yard ... searching for brightly colored eggs filled with special prizes ... and — if you were lucky — finding the one your grandmother hid with a fresh $20 in it. Or was that just me? Well, these Easter egg hunts might not be in your backyard, but they are in some beautiful places throughout Rhode Island. Strap on your egg-hunting shoes and get ready to (playfully) fight for some eggs. Once all the eggs have been found, stop by one of the Easter Bunny visits for breakfast or a photo op.

Easter Egg Hunts

• Audubon Society of RI – Bristol Camouflage Egg Hunt (March 23, 9:30–10:30 a.m.): Here's a fun alternative to the same old Easter Egg Hunt. Children ages 3–10 hunt for brown eggs in a natural setting and quickly learn how well the eggs camouflage. Prizes are awarded to all, with grand prizes for finders of the "golden eggs." Participants are asked to bring a basket. Advance registration is required.
• Museum of Natural History All About Eggs (March 24 & 25, 10:30–11:30 a.m.): While not quite an egg hunt, this special program provides an overview of the basic biology of avian eggs along with a look at the wide variety of egg decorating customs around the world. And get a sneak peek at a curated selection of the museum's extensive egg collection not typically on view to the public.
• Castle Hill Inn Easter Egg Hunt (March 30, 10 a.m.): More than 1,000 Easter eggs will be spread throughout the lawn, filled with various candies and surprises. A handful of special golden eggs will have extra prizes including restaurant gift cards and even a voucher for an overnight stay! A more relaxed experience for kids under 4 will be held adjacent to the main lawn area.
• Historic New England's Casey Farm 16th Annual Egg Hunt (March 30, 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.): Don't miss springtime family fun at the farm with a candy-filled egg hunt! Enjoy a visit with chickens and rabbits, farm games, light refreshments and crafts. 
• The Preserve Sporting Club Easter Egg Roll and Hunt (March 31, 10–11 a.m.): The Preserve's Egg Roll is a race where children push an egg across the lawn with a long-handled spoon. Prizes and Easter treats will be awarded. Stick around after the Egg Roll for an egg hunt, Easter crafts and an appearance by the Easter Bunny, complete with photo ops.

• Garden City Center Easter Bunny Portrait Sessions (March 15–30, select dates and times): Visit the Easter Bunny's cabin at the Garden City Center Gazebo. Portrait sessions must be scheduled in advance and will include a private visit with the Easter Bunny, a photography session including a minimum of 5 professionally edited photos, special gifts from Garden City Center retailers and a link to digital photos. Additional Easter events on March 17 include Bunny Brunch at Newport Creamery from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and Easter Bunny Meet & Greet at The Paper Store from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
• Roger Williams Park Zoo & Carousel Village Visit with the Easter Bunny (March 23–30, select dates and times): Hop over to the zoo to say hello to the Easter Bunny and pose for photos. Limited space is also available for a cozy VIP Storytime & Photos with the Easter Bunny prior to regular visiting hours. 
• Battleship Cove Breakfast with the Easter Bunny (March 30, 9–11 a.m.): Enjoy a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Battleship Cove. Play games, explore the ships, take photos with the Easter Bunny and partake in an "eggcellent" scavenger hunt.
