Whether you're into vintage vinyl, still have a Case Logic binder full of CDs, or know the unique pain of winding tape back into a cassette, the Providence Rock and Roll Yard Sale has you covered. With a wide variety of vendors selling records, tapes and CDs, you'll find everything from jazz and classic rock to country and reggae. (Although if you're looking for eight-track tapes to listen to in your '72 Pinto, you might be out of luck.)
Providence Rock and Roll Yard Sale, in collaboration with InDowncity, returns on Saturday, May 4 to take over Grant's Block and Westminster St. (between Eddy St. & Mathewson St.) from 12–6 p.m. This mark's InDowncity's first event in the newly renovated Grant's Block Park.
In addition to an abundance of music memorabilia, you can find tons of collectibles from Cold War era toys to sports cards and classic comics. Pick out the perfect vintage jewelry, buy some original artwork or treat yourself to a fun Providence-themed tee. Check out rockandrollyardsale.com for a full list of participating vendors.
Ready for a break from shopping? Check out local DJ Studebaker Hawk, who will be spinning tunes all afternoon, and then head to the food truck lineup for Anna's Vesuviano, Wiener Wagon, La Costa Lobsters and Tacos, and more. And grab yourself an adult beverage from Bu's Tap Trailer or Durk's Bar-B-Q while you're there.
It doesn't matter if you're a little bit country or a little bit rock and roll, you'll want to put on your boogie-woogie shoes and get yourself downtown for an afternoon of outdoor shopping, food and music.
