PWCVB News

The PWCVB is partnering with Tourism Cares on September 14 and 15. This great program pulls together 200 tourism professionals to work on local projects to help improve the experience of both visitors and residents. Some of the projects include planting and beautification in India Point Park and Burnside Park, cleaning up and painting along the RiverWalk, as well as a mural project on Federal Hill. Become a part of this Tourism Cares event through volunteering time or resources. For more info, contact the PWCVB Leisure Sales & Visitor Center Manager Elise Swearingen.

Just a reminder to save the date for the PWCVB's Annual MeetingThursday, Nov. 2 at the WaterFire Arts Center, 475 Valley Street in Providence. Keep an eye out for invitations in mid-September.

As always, be sure to add your events to our online calendar. It may take up to seven days for your event to be posted on our website, so plan accordingly. Limit descriptions to 180 characters if possible. If you have any questions, please contact CRM Database and Research Coordinator Beth-Anne Tremaine.

We're very excited to welcome Kleos to the neighborhood. Rosalina’s owners have opened this Greek restaurant in the downtown space formerly occupied by Tazza (250 Westminster Street). Kleos is currently serving dinner and is planning on opening for lunch sometime in the fall.

Best of luck to Figidini's, who will be heading to the Pizza & Pasta Northeast Expo in Atlantic City October 17-18 to compete in the Caputo Cup for Neapolitan pizza. Hmmm, I wonder if they're still looking for judges?

HASCON, Hasbro’s Fan & FANmily Event, is heading to downtown Providence September 8-10. Fans and families can see their favorite Hasbro brands come to life and enjoy interactive games, celebrity appearances, exclusive, first-look content and much more. Tickets are on sale now.

The Projo’s Critics Choice Awards is coming up September 14 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet from 5 to 9 p.m. Join food critic extraordinaire Gail Ciampa for samplings from some of her favorite restaurants (more than a dozen are PWCVB members). Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. Bring your appetite!
