There's an expression in New England — "You can't get there from here." But at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, you can get just about anywhere from here.
Location, Location, Location
Although generally referred to as Providence or PVD, T.F. Green is located in nearby Warwick, with a central location that makes it easily accessible to and from major hubs like Boston and New York. And being just eight miles from Providence means a traveler can grab their bags, connect with a ride share and arrive at their downtown hotel in less than 15 minutes.
Unlike larger airports, PVD offers shorter wait times and lower fees for ride shares. The airport's strategic location puts you just minutes from downtown Providence and approximately 20 minutes from Newport and Rhode Island's beautiful beaches.
The nearby InterLink, connected to the airport by skywalk, provides easy access to rental cars, commuter trains, public transportation and parking. For those picking up travelers, the Cell Phone Waiting Lot is just a minute away, allowing for quick and easy passenger pickup at numbered meeting poles outside the Arrivals area.
National Recognition
According to recent data from the U.S. Department of Transportation, T.F. Green is currently the fastest-growing major airport in the United States. This growth comes with accolades such as recent recognition as the second-best airport in the U.S. in Travel + Leisure's "World's Best Awards" for 2024. Most recently, PVD has been nominated for Conde Nast Traveler's Reader's Best Award for 2025. (Be sure to vote!)
Expanding Options
Providence's proximity to Boston provides travelers with two major airport options. While Boston's Logan International Airport is just a train ride away for international travelers, T.F. Green itself has been rapidly expanding its offerings.
Currently served by nine airlines, including Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and more, PVD offers direct access to major carriers. In the three years since Breeze Airways designated the airport as a connecting hub, the airline has added 18 nonstop routes, 120 flights per week and hundreds of jobs, with plans for additional routes over the next two years.
T.F. Green now offers non-stop flights to 38 locations, from nearby destinations like New York's JFK, Philadelphia and Baltimore, to farther points including Los Angeles, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. With additional flights to 11 major connecting hubs like Chicago and Denver, travelers can reach virtually any destination from PVD.
Your Airport Experience
T.F. Green offers several distinctive touches that enhance the airport experience. Volunteers often provide musical entertainment for guests as they wait for arriving passengers or gather their luggage. For travelers experiencing flight anxiety, look for the PVD Pups, specially trained dogs (and their human companions) wearing red "Pet Me" vests who provide stress relief and comfort.
Hungry travelers can eat like locals at Saugy Frank's or Providence Provisions, sample regional brews from Whalers or Narragansett, and shop for classic Rhode Island souvenirs featuring regional products.
Whether traveling to or from Rhode Island, T.F. Green International Airport's combination of a convenient location, expanding flight options and unique local character makes it an ideal choice for stress-free travel.
Be sure to stop in the bathrooms while you're here. They're some of the nicest airport bathrooms you'll ever see. Don't take my word for it, though. Our convention services manager, Carley Foto, says it best in the video below.
