If you're one of the growing number of Americans who prefer a plant-based diet, you probably know all the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Providence. But did you know that a wide variety of other Providence restaurants also have vegan-friendly options on their menu?

Plant-Friendly Pasta

If you're in the mood for Italian, head to Cassarino's Ristorante on Federal Hill for one of their vegan meatball or Beyond Meat Italian sausage entrees. Or check out Trattoria Appia — their Cavatelli Primavera features a vegan pesto and seasonal veggies. Other pasta dishes can be made with a vegan preparation on request.

Meatless Mexican Menus

Also on the Hill, Don Jose Tequila's Restaurant offers great Mexican dishes like Veggie Enchiladas or Veggie Burritos, which you can enjoy on their cozy private patio. For more Mexican choices, check out Diego's East Side Restaurant for Vegan Tacos or Xaco Taco in the Jewelry District. Their Coliflor Frita Taco (tempura-fried cauliflower) pairs well with any of their vegetarian side dishes. Even better, they have a $2 taco special every day from 3–5 p.m.

Veggie steak and burgers, too!

Don't count out a steakhouse! Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has a Roasted Portobello & Cauliflower Steak and a handful of plant-based sides to go with it. They've even got a vegetarian dessert or two on the menu. (Try the Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake.) And you can find a veggie burger at many of Providence's restaurants and bars. We recommend 110 Grill's Beyond Burger, The George's Veggie Burger, and Harry's Bar & Burger's Veggie Black Bean Burger, just to name a few.

Plant-based pizzas

Pizza lovers, we haven't forgotten you. Try the Triple V – Very, Veggie, Vegan pizza at Francesco's Pizzeria or stop by Napolitano's Brooklyn Pizza for a slice of their Vegan Cheese Pizza. And, since most of their beers are vegan-friendly, you can enjoy a 'Gansett and a plant-based Buffalo Chicken Flatbread on the patio at Narragansett Brewing Company.

Vegan sweets and treats

Don't forget to indulge your sweet tooth at Sin, where they feature a different vegan scone and cupcake every month. With tasty treats like vegan raspberry passion scones and vegan vanilla/raspberry cupcakes, you can't go wrong!
